Students resumed school in Hungary today, 1st September 2021.
I was planning to buy monthly transportation tickets for my children when they asked me if I did not hear the news.
The government had declared that henceforth, all children under the age of 14 years could now use public transportation free of charge. It was to cushion the economic impact of the pandemic on parents. Previously, free transportation was just for children under the age of 6 and for pensioners.
When students resumed, all the books they will use throughout the term was distributed to them free of charge because it is free education till you are 18.
Meanwhile, some Mayors (local government chairman in Nigeria) sent money to families to assist them in buying some of the items children may need when resuming school, such as bags, etc. They do it during Christmas too, to support family shopping.
Remember that all children receive monthly salary and free medical treatment till the age of 18. Children's monthly salaries are more than the N30k minimum wage in Nigeria. Argue with your ancestors and continue to blame Frederick Lugard for the pathetic greed of your leaders!
This is what we call distribution of wealth!!
Government officials do not send their children to school abroad with public money because they have set their schools to high standards.
By next week, I will do a video to show you the inner working of schools here so that you can see why Nigerian politicians, including the Minister of Education, send their children to school abroad while the National Association of Nigerian Students kept quiet when ASUU strike kept them at home for one wasted session!
These are facilities and provisions that could easily be built in Nigerian schools.
This is a country that is not as rich as Nigeria.
Nigeria is far richer than Hungary but poorer in all standards of comparison.
This is a country that fought wars and communism. In 1956 they came together and organized a massive revolution of the people against the forces of oppression.
Today, it is not just a member of the schengen states, it is the center of European tourism and education. As Nigeria continues to celebrate Soyinka's Nobel prize won in 1986, this country of less than 10 million citizens, have won 18 Nobel prizes especially in medicine and the Sciences.
While Nigeria got a silver and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Hungarians returned with 20 medals- 6 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze.
Nigeria shall never realize her full potentials until the day that we shall all stand up with one revolutionary voice and shout NO!!
Nothing has destroyed Nigeria as much as the silence of the citizenry, as government officials continue to spirit away our commonwealth. We are the only people on planet earth that will see nothing wrong about the thievery of a government official as long as he is from our tribe or religion. We are good at comparing what "our thief" stole with what "their thief" stole. Public money!!!
I hope you can see why Nigerians in diaspora are very angry with the senseless governance back in Nigeria.
Any day I walk on the streets of Europe, I am deeply worried about my country Nigeria. Why a few persons in the government of Nigeria seem to have sworn on oath, that Nigerians should not enjoy welfare and security from our commonwealth. My people work from Sunday to Sunday just to survive. To live is different from surviving.
As hard working as we are, we hardly go on holiday. In Europe, shoemakers, plumbers, carpenters, vulcanizers, travel on holidays with their families because the system was not designed to be desperate.
Majority of Nigerian office holders deserve to be stoned. They stole the children's bread and fed it to their dogs.
We sold oil for 60 years and became the poverty capital of the world. We were once judged as the happiest people on earth. Now, we are the angriest. Now we have teenagers that are ritualists. Now, tomorrow is no longer a promise.
When will joy truly come in the morning as tragic news overtake tragic news in a country as naturally blessed like no other?
Then, just to mock us, many times, they have told us how, in their dreams, they have lifted millions of Nigerians out of poverty. There is no single day that we are not insulted by our leaders. They bruised our psyche. They tortured our emotions. They stole our dignity as a people. When we ought to be asking them to return our collective dignity, we call them Excellency. Are we stupid?
Nigeria is waiting for Nigerians to set her free from the claws of insatiable vampires. Massive Revolution or nothing.
Nothing will change in Nigeria until the people are prepared to cure Nigeria.
While the world is quickly moving forward with their citizens, Buhari and Osinbajo are busy tracing grazing routes for cows as in the 50s.
