If you’re without children now, don’t worry about it. Put all of that energy into relocating, of course if you’re pro-relocation. Relocation is easier when you’re without children. The more children you have, the more funds you’ve to proof. The more concern you have of leaving your children behind or moving first.
This is not to discourage those who have children. Just saying that children add more to your proof of funds especially if you wanna move with all of them.
If you’re single, and you can relocate, move. Move. Don’t wait to be married before you move. Relocating is easier as a single person that it is when you’re married. Don’t wait to be married to do anything your heart desires. Do it now.
If you wanna go for your studies, go. Go and see what’s obtainable in another country. Don’t allow the desire to be married stop you from relocating. Who knows, you may get married to a man or woman who doesn’t see the need to relocate delaying your own plans. Don’t forget that which each year, relocation becomes tougher.
Case in point. In 2017, Canada Express Entry draws used to be lower in this year, such that you don’t even need a second degree to get the cut off points. In 2020, with scores almost hitting the roof, such that those who had second degrees, had to go and learn French or find an alternative means. Worse is this year 2021 where draws have been on hold.
This is to let you know that relocating does NOT get easier with time. The best time to plan your relocation path is now. Don’t wait for that boy. Or that girl. Let him find his or her own path. Or move and then from there, you can both find your path.
Some things don’t get easier with time. Relocation is one of them.
A friend told me that himself and his wife waited for two years intentionally to have children. He told me that if he was well informed, he’d have used those times he was without children to relocate himself and his family, but he’s got three children now and relocating with all of them is now difficult. More, he has to show so much money has his proof of funds. I genuinely sympathize with his situation.
Another friend told me how she and her hubby for the past three years don’t have a child and one day, she just realized that they could take advantage of their situation and put all of their energy into relocating. She’s in Canada today.
If you’re single, this post is specially for you. Please don’t wait to be married before you move. Don’t say “ehn when I get married, I’d move”. Or you’ve been told that relocation is for married people. Lie of the century. Hehehehe. What of if you get married to a person who is a Nigerian martyr? Is that how you’ll stop your own destiny from leaving Nigeria? Truthfully, many people are stuck in Nigeria because their spouses don’t see the need to move despite their desire to.
Again, if you’ve children, please don’t be discouraged. Some countries have provisions for kids. Canada does. So continue the hustle. Don’t give up. I used to envy a friend who has four children and got up to $2.5K child care benefits for all his children.
May God provide money and grant everyone’s relocation desires, Amen!
